Greg Hardy’s DQ loss is not as big of a setback as critics are making it out to be

Fact: Hardy has only been a pro for 7 months, and this was only his 4th fight. Going up against a guy with 12 fights over 5 years being a pro. Crowder was doing his best to not lose while Hardy was trying to win.

Greg did extremely well considering these circumstances. He was up 2 rounds and easily outstriking Crowder from a distance.
The most significant thing Crowder did was try to taunt, and then panic wrestle/clinch once Hardy actually came forward to respond to the taunts.

Crowder briefly had side control, a crucifix, and Hardy calmly defended while absorbing zero damage. Then Crowder took the cowards way out after talking all that crap about beating up Hardy.

Hardy would easily outclass this guy if they rematch 3 months from now. Discuss

Not at all. He should be fighting Derrick Lewis next.

If he wins the TS and GOAT status.

But he cost me a win in Tapology - that bitch!

Sometimes you just gotta get a DQ.

setback enough to put is ass into the prelims like he should have been to begin with.

Not really, they were 1-1. Crowder started tagging him in the 2nd, GH was totally gassed out, easily lost the round. It was because of desperation and realization that it is going south for him that he made the move, and got dq'ed. Fckng women beater. It is embarrassment for UFC to have him on the roster...

Shut up lol. You're clearly biased

Prelims and early fights are an interesting point of contention. The thinking by fans is that you put weak fighters on the undercard but the thinking from management is that you attract more people to the arena and more people to the PPV early if you put some talent on the undercard. I'm always a little amazed when a decent fighter is on the undercard and someone posts, "What's he doing on the undercard? Great job Dana, you dumb goofball bastard." Meanwhile, I'm thinking, he's on the undercard because its a smart way to design cards, not because the UFC is stupid. Anyway, just some random thoughts.

Crowder might have landed one clean punch standing in round 2. Hardy landed lots of jabs and body punches and was controlling the fight.

It was actually the opposite, Crowder was the one desperately looking for a way to change the way the fight was going.

Hence the taunting—he was trying to get Hardy to abandon his disciplined striking distance to try and take him down. Hardy was simply following his corners advice and succeeding at landing from a distance.

It's not good to be able to be baited into responding to taunts so easily...especially with his rep dogging him. I doubt that's so easily solved with just a little more training.

DQ loss may have actually been a not so bad outcome for him. He now likely will continue to fight guys outside the top 15 and will have more time to gain experience and grow as a fighter.

If he KOd Crowder he may be rushed into fighting the top guys.

If he lost to Crowder his hype would be dead.

While he didn’t look amazing in this fight and maybe lost some hype- the DQ at least leaves a “what if” scenario and also again will give him more time fighting the lower ranked guys

crowder took his hardest punches began walking a gassing hardy down. Crowder would have won. Hardy took the best way out for him at the time.

He doesn't look as in shape as he was when he was a Football player . I wonder how seriously he is taking this or if he is trying to get by on athleticism .

Hardy was so gassed out after round 1 he barely made it to his corner. When round 2 started his punches had nothing, Crowder had his hands down and was now the attacker. Hardy was afraid he was going to get KO'd he looked for a way out and he found it by kneeing a downed opponent.

He did. But that also goes to show that Hardy is an A-level strategist. Most people wouldn't have been able to think that clearly amidst of a fight.

fight actually got stopped pretty early in the second so to say he was up 2 rounds just makes no sense. btw, he was actually losing the second round, completely gassed out and was obviously on his way to losing anyways... and then you go on to say that a man in a cage fight that just absorbed a blatantly illegal knee directly to his temple from a monster in Greg Hardy couldnt continue to fight, so he is therefore a coward. your a lame ass piece of shit and i bet anything ur fat af

Do casuals even understand why the DQ? That fighting gets you DQ makes the UFC look bad, not Hardy. The knee is a no-issue.
