Depending on your point of view, 2025 has been either a year to remember or one to totally forget. The Sherdog Forums have been through some rough times this year. Whether due to a migration, repeated system updates, DDos attacks, endless bot waves, or even a few self-inflicted wounds (looking at you, 2FA), we are so grateful to each and every one of you for your patience in hanging on here. We understand that it's been difficult to at times even access this place, but those of us that live Sherdog can never truly leave it.
Me? I first registered in 2002 back in high school, where after school I would peruse the forums since I generally couldn't from home, and I would argue relentlessly that karatekas would dominate the UFC (they didn't), why Semmy Schilt had a real future in MMA (he didn't) or that Chuck Liddell could knock out a tried-and-true heavyweight (he did, but Randy ganked him first). And no, I don't remember my old account, but I swear it wasn't banned. Anyway, this isn't about me, it's about Sherdog's glorious moderation team.
If you're wondering why a mod may be missing from this list, it could be because of one of the following reasons: they aren't regulars of the Heavies, they weren't active for most of year (six months is as good a line as any) or that they politely declined the nomination. It's not because we don't love them.

Who I think their favorite fighter is: C'mon, this is an easy one. Igor Vovchanchyn. The man who put a boot upside his head at Pride Total Elimination 2003 is probably up there too.
"The two fighters I hated most back then were BJ Penn and Nick Diaz (their insufferable fans also made me root for them to lose even harder). Watching GSP absolutely pulverize BJ in their rematch is still one of the greatest things I've ever witnessed as an MMA fan. I'm only sorry that GSP didn't obliterate Nick the same way. But a thorough 50-45 domination isn't too shabby"

Note: Cheeks turned in his blues shortly before the end of the year, so for his service in 2025 we happily will include him on this list for one more year.
