I agree, he definitely was influenced by this guy. In fact a lot of those older vaudeville types.

Harold Lloyd and Buster Keaton were probably the biggest inspirations of all for none other than Jackie Chan.

Jackie recreated this scene of Keatons exacrly as well as Harold Lloyd when he was hanging off the clock hands.

I always wanted to see Jackie just to a flat out black and white comedy homage film to the silent greats. No martial arts, just a pure old school silent comedy with stunts. There'd be no language barrier either, the actors could speak whatever they wanted to, it could be sold to all areas of the world without issue as title cards would be in native languages.

Apparently this is Harold Lloyd. The comedian, stunt performer for silent films.

wow, never knew Lloyd was a dancer. Cab Calloway was a lot like MJ in his era, fantastic showman.

But did he sleep in the same bed as little boys who weren't related to him and give them wine???

But it was all very charming.

I love Lloyd's Movie Crazy (1932). An early backstage Hollywood film.

That's a fucking genius idea.

No doubt Chan is amazing. I got the Police Story boxset and he talks about his debt to Buster quite a bit. They are a dying breed of entertainer.
