Oh yeah, he also recently revived the Stalin era "Hero of Labour" aware. Anyone wanna take bets on
how long it takes Putin to restore the soviet flag?

LOL. Go sing Lee Greenwood.

Yeah. Too rangy. Star Spangled Banner is a poorly written song because it requires the singer to sing the highest note with an "eee" vowel sound. That's just shitty songwriting.

There are plenty of great patriotic songs. We should change our national anthem to one of them, instead of the poorly written drinking song we use now.

Everything the US does right now only strengthen Putin position in power. If you guys think Russian people will blame Putin because they enter a small recession or because there's problems at home you are crazy.

Last year Putin support was only around 40%, now it's over 70%. I don't know who's in charge of this mess for the US side but if their goal is to weaken Russia, it's not working very well so far. There's an American astronaut on the space station, what if Russia doesn't go pick him up before he runs out of o2? What if the US has to use a trampoline to get into space next time they want to reach the ISS?

The Levada Center, a well-respected independent polling center, has also found that Putin had a 72 percent approval rating, up 7 points from January and a recent record. To put that in context on a world stage, U.S. president Barack Obama is currently at 43 percent, according to Gallup, while 79 percent of the French say they don't approve of Francois Hollande's presidency. Putin isn't just popular, he's extraordinarily popular.

Just enough to stay in power for another 9 or 10 years.

http://indian.ruvr.ru/2014_04_21/Russian-Su-24-scores-off-against-the-American-USS-Donald-Cook-5786/

US destroyer "Donald Cook" with cruise missiles "Tomahawk" entered the neutral waters of the Black Sea on April 10. The purpose was a demonstration of force and intimidation in connection with the position of Russia in Ukraine and Crimea. The appearance of American warships in these waters is in contradiction of the Montreux Convention about the nature and duration of stay in the Black Sea by the military ships of countries not washed by this sea.

In response, Russia sent an unarmed bomber Su- 24 to fly around the U.S. destroyer. However, experts say that this plane was equipped with the latest Russian electronic warfare complex. According to this version, "Aegis" spotted from afar the approaching aircraft, and sounded alarm. Everything went normally, American radars calculated the speed of the approaching target. And suddenly all the screens went blank. "Aegis" was not working any more, and the rockets could not get target information. Meanwhile, Su-24 flew over the deck of the destroyer, did battle turn and simulated missile attack on the target. Then it turned and repeated the maneuver. And did so 12 times.

Probably not 100% all true, but also probably not 100% all false. Not sure about 12 times, but it's possible it worked once. Or something.. Either way rejoice!

So things are going to bad right now in Russia that they are the first country to drill Arctic oil offshore, think about it.. how bad things have to be that you have billions to spend to drill the Arctic first. Canada is no where near ready to start drilling, I don't think the US is even considering, maybe only Norway could build a platform to counter Russia but that's it.

Anyway.. The parade is next Friday, should be much bigger than it was before, gotta keep moral high!

Why would the US be concerned if Putin is in power if Putin's driving the russian economy into the shitter and can't even hold Ukraine in the Russian sphere of influence?

You watch too much MSNBC..

Should go stand in a five hour line for toilet paper too, if they wanna get nostalgic.

its understandable becuase SU > Russia

As far as national anthem goes, Hymn of the Soviet Union kicks Star Spangled Banner to the curb and pisses on it.

Here are some May Day pics from Moscow (top) and St. Petersburg (bottom) showing Russian Nazis on the march.

Now, presumably all these men pictured were set upon by protestors and arrested moments after each photo was taken. You know, with Russia being really concerned about combating fascism, so much so that it will invade neighbouring states even to enforce its anti-fascist policies. I can only wonder what possessed these Russian Nazis to show their faces in public and engage in what must have been illegal marches, right?

Just to put in perspective - GWB's approval rating ranged from about mid 70's to mid 80's between late 2001 to 2003. The big calls he made then sure as hell ain't too popular now.

The Russian sheep will also realise there's such a thing as 'consequences' for their leader's oh so patriotic decisions.

Sooner or later.

Its really quite baffling that they are too dumb to realize that hitler hated the slavs and wanted to exterminate them especially the russians. I mean.. dont they have any grandparents who lived through that time period who should have sticked their foot up their asses the minute the saw them seig heiling?:icon_lol:

Your link from Russian Radio about the USS Donald Cook having its screens go blank is a lie. Leaving the obvious problem of relying on Putin for information about how strong Putin is aside, the story just doesn't make any sense whatsoever. IF Russia had a way to jam Aegis to the point that screens just go blank, why would they let the US know this by flying an unarmed Su-24 over the Donald Cook? If they did have that advantage, it would be idiotic to show their hand now and let the US fix the flaw.

More likely, this is just propaganda from a propaganda website giving Putin's supporters hope that, if the US's Arleigh Burke-class ship in the Black Sea starts letting Tomahawks fly, Russia could do something about it.
