RIZIN is such a fun organization to follow. I watched their first few events live, but lost interest when they couldn't secure streams for some of their events.

It was the first big organization to feature Valentin Moldavsky, Jiri Prochazka, Vadim Nemkov, Kron Gracie, Rena Kubota, Amir Aliakbari, Shinobu Ota, Kai Asakura, etc.

RIZIN almost singlehandedly keeps my interest in MMA. I'm completely jaded by what the UFC has become, and am thankful there is an org without the watered down rule set and shitty judging criteria. It's the purest form of organized fighting you'll come across (unless you count King of the Streets, but that's a discussion for another time).

Fedor unretired to beat an indian bum
Gabi Garcia was slated to face 11-20 megumi yabushita (who was around 45 kilograms lighter than her)
Jiri’s first appearance on media

The fact that Nasukawa vs Mayweather actually happened still blows my mind. I remember watching live convinced that it was going to get cancelled last minute.

Im glad theyre around still. A more scaled down, Japanese fighter centric organization. Haven't paid much attention since i attended one event a few years ago.

My RIZIN memory is of how they booked Fedor to fight Jaideep, fans all hated it so RIZIN pulled Jaideep and announced that Fedor would fight a “mystery opponent” instead…and then revealed the opponent to just be Jaideep still

glad they are back, glad sakakibara is back, and hope they have many more years. MMA only exists with a prominent JMMA org. esp with how UFC has become, coporate, and sterile. you need the yin, you need the yang.
