Has there ever been a 10-7 round in the UFC? If not, how would one look like?

Has there ever been 10-6 and crazier rounds?

how does a fight where you would call a round a 10-7 not end the fight?

Frankie vs Maynard 2 round 1

How the hell couldn't it be?

10-7 is only possible in real life if a round is 10-8 and there is also a point deduction. Apart from that it will never happen and should be excluded from the rules imo.

that to me wasn't a 10-7. call it a 10-8 if you want. i do agree that the round was as close as you could possibly call a 10-7. that fight could have been stopped.

Brock vs. Carwin Round 1 looked like a 10-7

Like others are saying, if it looks worse than a 10-8, in terms of one fighter getting beyond obliterated by the other, it should be stopped.

Maia could have racked up a 10-7 against Gunnar. Gunnar wasn't close to being put out, but he was a helpless kitten for several minutes at a time.

What do you think the scorecard to Stipe vs Hunt were prior to the fight being stopped?

Forrest Petz vs Sam Morgan was 30-23 on one of the judges scorecard so one of the rounds was 10-7 and the other two were 10-8.

Also Quarry vs Starnes - One judge scored it 30-24 for Quarry. There's gotta be a 10-7 in there as well unless all three rounds were 10-8.

How could u forget the Weidman vs Rockhold fight? A real carreer-changer. True beating.

This and McGregor vs Alvarez round 1 are the only 10-7's I've given. 3 hard knockdowns like that is an automatic 10-7 for me, as is near fight ending domination for the majority of the round.

All the old rules stated for 10-7 was total domination. That meant GSP could take you down and hold you there for 5 minutes and it should be 10-7. Like 10-10 and previously 10-8, judges were afraid to score fights that way and were discouraged.

Under the new rules, 10-8 is better defined so 10-7 is more possible but I think most judges will still go 10-8. 10-6 shouldn't even be an option because it will never be used unless Big Dan feels like seeing someone die one night.

No.

Great retort. Scoring says nothing about damage. It says dominance. If GSP immediately takes someone down and held them there with zero offense, it's a 10-7 under both the new and old rules.
