Welcome to the Michael Venom Page (aka MVP) Rabbit Hole. Here I'll attempt to post all of his Combat Fights (except Karate). If I can't find full videos, then I'll post highlights or pictures & a description of the result. I'll post both fighters record entering the fight in (parenthesis) and the opponents career record in [brackets]. Let me know what you think about these or if you have any suggestions for future rabbit holes to go down. Enjoy!

Bellator should sign perry and they can do a rematch in mma, that fight was close, i thought they were going to give page the decision

With all due respect to Perry I think he’s toast in mma. MVP with more space and kicks and knees is dangerous.

Love it.
My favourite fight of his is vs. Ricky Rainey, it's out there somewhere.

Better then I expected. It's not the competition it's how he mocks inferior fighters while beating them up.
I respected him when he went to war with Perry. Shows he can take it and not just give it. Also fought Daley and Lima twice.

I used to hate when his competition was too easy and he played with them.

Whatever I might've said, MVP is actually really strong, his striking is deadly

That's how I felt after watching it through the first time. I think the first time I did this deep dive on him was after he lost to Lima. I'd seen some clips and highlights and knew he got KOed by Lima but didn't know much about him other than that. I'd say I went into it not really liking him and came out a fan. He's fun to watch, and I too prefer to watch him against solid opponents. I'm still holding out hope that we'll get him vs Wonderboy someday.

I've watched MVP since the beginning and always expected him to patch together his game like Izzy did and come to UFC to win a belt. He's put on entertaining fights though, but I am a little disappointed being a fan of his. His potential he could've been #1 with better skills on the ground.

Yeah, I had hoped he would develop some ground skills too, but his last performance against Storley showed me we have no hope for that. He literally didn't even under hook once when his back was against the fence all those rounds. I thought it was well known that is the best defense against the cage and creates opportunities to get off, but he was just a fish out of water. His striking is a lot of fun to watch though. The way it just comes out of no where, and how he manipulates the opponents into his shots. Beautiful .

I'll still watch for the entertainment, but if someone like Izzy got him ready for more TDD, he's so close to being on the top level it makes me mad.

Yeah, he's so close to being a next level talent, but just hasn't taken it there. I'd really love to see MVP vs Wonderboy. Him vs Masvidal would be interesting too. There are some fights in the UFC that I'd absolutely love to see, but at this point I feel like he's just going to be a Bellator lifer.

Izzy hasn’t really put anything together he’s just facing guys who can’t wrestle lol. If Izzy had to face someone with wrestling like Logan Storley he would get 50-42’d easily. Don’t confuse facing stand up bums like Cannonier or Vettori with “putting it together.” That’s just UFC propaganda once again. Izzy is a horrible grappler even worse than MVP he just hasn’t faced anyone who can exploit it like MVP has.

Respectfully I think Whittaker would of took MVP down at 185 (hypothetically lets say an equivalent) but valid point, Izzy isn't Aldo with his TDD, I just thought he was pretty effective keeping on the feet.

You're not wrong, but at the same time Izzy did fight some decent grapplers in Brunson, Gastelum, Vettori, Romero and of course Blachowicz who exploited his grappling in the latter rounds to win. Izzy's shown better takedown D than MVP, thats for sure and I think if him and Storley fought Izzy would KO Storley no problem. It's not like Storley dominated MVP, he got him against the cage and held him. Izzy is good at getting off the cage against grapplers, and would have worked to do so, MVP kind of just accepted his position and didn't even attempt a single underhook.
