Family friend is looking for some boxing gloves for their 5 turning 6 year old. They got him an actually decent punching bag on the stand (lot of pent up energy, they hope this will help), but the "gloves" that came with it are just useless foam things. Only thing I'm concerned about is his wrist support. Kid is tall and gangly and with those slippery things on I think there's a decent chance of him punching wrong, rolling his wrist, and possibly breaking it

I tried the search function but came up pretty blank. definitely looking for something cheap here

Amazon has these for $15

But I can't tell if they're the foam things again or decent. Reviews say they fit a 5 year old.

These as well

I'm probably not looking in the right place for halfway ok ones, but under $20 is definitely a need

If he is 5 then go with the Everlast gloves, it does not really that good, but I think those gloves will be good enough for bag work of a 5 year old

Title has some youth gloves.

Should protect the kid's hands better and fit more comfortably than those Everlasts. I know he's 5 so he won't be pounding the bag hard enough to hurt his hands, but its a slight step up.

Thanks these look great. Went to Amazon (where they're out of stock) and people were saying they're good for 7-9 year olds so they might be a little big, but if they're usable just means he can get more time out of them. Perfect price and has the wrist and hand support I was looking for. Agreed, he won't need the hand protection, but the other support for strains is what I was looking for

Still open to other suggestions, Especially 6-8 oz gloves to be a little smaller than these 10s

I just bought my son the 6oz Dragondo gloves. They were $17 when I bought them, but $32 now, price on ebay where I got them seems to fluctuate. They seem really good for kid gloves.

I have kids ranging from 5 years old to 11. If you don't mind spending some money ($75), Cleto Reyes Youth gloves are the best I have found. They are small enough that he will probably outgrow them by the time he turns 8. When he reaches that age, I'd get the XS Cleto Reyes Hook and Loop gloves.

Here's a link to a review I did of the gloves:

Windy kids' gloves look pretty decent too, and the price is not at all that bad. It's within your budget. It's made of synthetic leather though.
