Would Shogun get a Title Shot, if Jones was still the champ?

Before the Smith fight many people thought Shogun has a case for a Title Shot, even DC said that he wants to fight him. He had a nice winning streak during in USADA era. His fight with DC would be a new matchup people had never seen, betwen two legendary fighters, which could bring in a lot of money from the hardcore fans.

But, if Jon Jones was still the champ, would he still be as close to a Title Shot, as he was now? Considering the humiliating fashion Jones beat shogun last time they met, the outcome would be the same,IMO, if not worse. Would Shogun even want to fight Jones again?

What would the UFC do in this case? Would they give Shogun the Title shot, or throw contenders at him, until he loses, to try and build somebody's name up off of Shogun?

Do they give shogun one last payday, before he rides off in to the sunset, or Fitch him, if he ended up as #1 contender with Bones as champ?

Shogun is done, has been for a long time.
He has no business anywhere to a belt.. He should have cut to MW long ago to try to revamp his career.
