Woodley @ LHW

Oh Sherdog.

Genuinely curious, what makes you think that Woodley matches up well against Kennedy?

Bear in mind that in the last 10 years of so, Kennedy has only lost to Jacare, Rockhold, and Romero, pretty much the top 3 fighters in the UFC at MW. He has only been finished once, in a competitive fight with Yoel. Kennedy is no scrub. He hasn't fought in a while, but he is a legit top 10 MW. I don't think anything in those fights points to Woodley being able to do well against Kennedy. He certainly can't replicate what makes those 3 extremely difficult opponents.

Woodley is elite and powerful, but Kennedy is almost certainly stronger, with a significant advantage in reach, height and weight. Woodley does have a hammer in his right hand, but where do you see him winning this fight?

First of all my post was not made to bash Kennedy, it was to show that I feel like he's one of the best matchups for Woodley amongst the top fighters in that division.

No, Kennedy does not have "a significant" height and reach advantage, in fact they are virtually identical in these areas and it's one of the reasons I picked Kennedy as an ideal opponent. Tim is a heavier guy but Woodley is a far more accomplished wrestler and a better athlete, and with their stylistic archetypes being similar I feel like Woodley has a great chance.

I imagine Woodley having a much harder time against the Weidmans and Rockholds of the division than I do Kennedy, that's all brah.

he could beat shogun that's sad see it looking like the josh koscheck chincheck

It's all about dem matchups, Woodley would have a good chance against Kennedy, for example, at 205.

Against Kennedy? No I think he'd get smashed. Kennedy gave Romero all he could handle.

Kennedy would mauk and finish Tyron every time.
