It's funny how this mistake is widepread in america, don't you guys you know, go to school or something? I know education is expensive in the US, but come on
for your information, it's the same thing as mistaking scottish people and americans, spanish people and peruvians, etc. they both speak the same language (more or less) and that's it.
The french don't identify with "french canadians" as you call them and "french canadians" don't identify with the french.
