WMMA Discussion #29

I don’t think she really has a choice lol, pfl seems to have taken the ufc tactic of announcing bouts before they are signed to the extreme and announcing whole cards that way
Another dastardly UFC practice infecting the wider world of MMA (like the uniforms)

It’s amazing how many promotions now have standard uniforms. Many still allow sponsor logos, but it’s still a crazy trend

Karine Silva v. Ariane Lipski. Two fighters hoping to extend their winning streaks. Lipski has won three in a row, the last by arm bar. Silva has won all three of her UFC fights by submission. Lipski is a stronger test for Silva. She's improved on the feet and carries that queen of violence potential. Rooting for her as always. Still, going with Silva by sub. This should be a good one!

Ketlen Souza v. Marnie Mann. Souza by however she wants imho. I'll say decision.

Ivana Petrovic v. Na Liang. As much as I'd like to see Na Liang perform great and continue on in the UFC, she has a tendency to throw a few strikes and then back off for too long. I'm going with Petrovic - who has more of the requisite killer instinct - by sub or decision.

Going with the same although I hope Souza wants a finish more than a decision.

I wona Petrock by... submission?
Souza by... decision? It will be interesting to see if returning from gnarly knee injury affects her previously bouncy-aroundy style.

and in the battle of the knee destroyers,
Lipski because... Lipski 😍

Weak fights though.

I am disappoint. Capable of so much more.

I was at a wedding tonight, no signal to boot. Gonna have to watch the fights tomorrow

So basically there is no way to ever appeal a ref decision in France
I don't even think it's a real commission at this point. It's almost impossible to get a proper answer from them on nearly anything. They make a call and it's radio silence after that. I've even had fighters who've competed on events there who've contacted them after fights seeking clarification and it's even hard for them to get responses from them.

UFC

Karine Silva vs. Ariane Lipski. Silva proved she has effective cardio to go the distance against a ranked opponent. Earned the UD with strong wrestling and grappling.

Ketlen Souza vs. Marnic Mann. Souza dominated all three rounds. Credit Mann for sticking it out to the end but at 5'0" she's undersized.

Ivana Petrović vs. Na Liang. Liang had a decent first round and then her cardio fell off. Rounds 2 & 3 were all Petrovic, who secured an arm choke submission early in round three.
