A great piece written by Chuck Mindenhall on MMA Fighting.

It's about how UFC is becoming more Conor centric with each passing PPV mainevented by Conor. And How UFC has turned itself into Conor appeasing machine at the cost of other fighters' likelihood & dreams & instead of preventing it, how MMA media & a large portion of fans are contributing in the continuation of the process.

That's a base summary.

Though Article writer didn't go any distance describing it's long term effects on the sport regarding whether it will be good or bad. only describing the situation.

I am on the same boat with him. Kind of clueless about its effect. you just make your own decision .

At the cost of other fighters? He's making guys rich.

Come on, shut your fucking mouth. Whom is he making rich? Only a handful of fighters he is facing? What about others? What about the entire Featherweight & Lightweigfht roster & its' 160 like fighters who are being stalled by him (120 something like in Lightweight & 40-60 in Featherweight)?

How much money they are being seen ?

Well, no one has ever had such a huge gap in drawing power as Conor has over the entire roster right now. At least when Brock rose to prominence they had two other GOATs to help keep things moving.

Conor is, quite literally, carrying the UFC on his back right now and pushing them forward in a way no one else can aside from an undefeated/redeemed Rousey.

All you have to do is look at the avg PPV buys for non-Conor fights. No one even comes close.

Simply put, it's unprecedented. People often neglect to give Conor credit for how he got here. I'm not talking about the trash talk (which obviously helped) but he also understood how he had to perform and how active he needed to be. He did things other fighters couldn't and/or wouldn't do.

He is arguably the most exciting fighter in the promotion. He essentially saved two cards for the UFC. The 200 fiasco aside, he is the most reliable and lucrative asset the company has. Even though Dana undoubtedly pulls his non-existent hair out at times with Conor, Conor delivers in spades where White values it most. He has earned a lot of goodwill with White.

It may not be fair, but it is good business and it's what the majority of people want to see.

160 fighters are being fucked over by Conor? What an awful post.

How are 160 fighters being stalled by him? What are you talking about? Are they all waiting to fight for the championship belt in November?

When title defense in two divisions are on a hiatus because of you then you are absolutely stalling fighters of those said divisions.

I mean they can fight against each other but for what ? what are they going to achieve? no matter how many wins they are gonna stack, they will all end up being robbed from their title dreams because of that one guy. Is it not stalling?

Well Aldo's about to get a bigger bite of the pie and he's inspired a whole movement of examining your pay vs worth. Before him, everyone accepted that getting paid was unlikely. Now all kinds of guys are saying they want to get paid their worth. I think he's giving a ton of guys confidence and I've even heard numerous fighters say the same...

Who is being held up and not getting paid? Even if Conor wasn't the champ it's not like a paycheck for the title fight would be some huge amount in the first place. If anything those guys are in a better position to be working towards a title shot and a huge payday. Regardless, the only people who got passed over for title shots are Holloway, Aldo, and Khabib. Khabib has a fight and Holloway is looking for one so they are going to make money. So he held up one person who he has already made a ton of money with?

Bringing eyes to the UFC and breaking PPV records is bad??? Huh???

A rising tide raises all boats.

People complained about Tiger Woods too, but now that he is gone the money in golf just isn't the same.

Rainmakers feast while peasants pick up the crumbs. Is normal.

It's not stalling, what the fuck are you talking about? At most Conor is "stalling" 2-3 guys.

Again, those "160 guys" would not be fighting for championship belts in 2016 even if Conor had never existed....
