Why was wand so mad after the fight

wand was acting like chael was playing it safe, but wand was the one who played it WAY too safe

chael was trying to land gnp, improve position and go for subs. In the first round wand was trying to swivel his hips for a submission but chael was dropping bombs on him. After that wand did NOTHING on bottom but try to defend. Chael was trying to work and wand only tried to break posture and tie chaels arms up. The only sub attempt was trying to hold chael in a guillotine due to a double leg

Even when there was like 30 seconds left in the fight, wand didn't even attempt a Hail Mary sub or escape, he was still just holding the back of chaels head trying to stall. What would've been the worst that could happen, since he loses anyways unless he gets a finish?

What did he expect chael to do? Stop taking him down? Let him up?

I mean it'd be one thing if he was going for subs and escaping and throwing strikes while chael just tried hold him down like pettis vs guida...

but chael was actually working to finish wand and wand was the one just holding on to burn clock

What did he expect to happen....
 
He got controlled like a child after taking the fight largely to defend his pride and his country.

That's got to build some tension, no?

BEcause he got Wrestle Fucked and could not do anything about it.
 
Rogan was right Wand doesn't know how to finish that choke. He had the same one on Bisping and couldn't finish it.

Because Chael equated Brazilians to animals among saying other disparaging things.

 
Cause he wanted to stand and bang but Chael wouldn't let him.
 
Im pretty sure this whole fight lead up was a farce anyways.
 
Because for some reason he expected Sonnen to stand and trade with him?
 
I think he was not impressed with his performance and has limited capability to articulately express his emotions.

He does call himself 'The Axe Murderer' after all.

Aye, he's nuts. I was listening to a Cro Cop interview a while back and he was talking about the last year's Rizin press conference or whatever it was. So basically, before the whole thing started him and Wanderlei hugged, they had a nice conversation etc. and all was good. About 30 mins later the press conference started and I guess Wanderlei got asked something by a journalist and responded in Portuguese. CC didn't understand it, but Wanderlei did mention the name Mirko many times. When the translator translated it to Japanese, Mirko's Japanese manager told him that Wanderlei is calling him out. Next thing you know, the dude doesn't wanna talk to Mirko, he's not making eye contact etc., even the next morning he didn't want to say good morning when they were at the hotel.

Turns out Wanderlei was just getting some media time and he knew he wasn't gonna fight in Rizin because he already a scheduled trip to Milano for some Bellator event as a guest. CC was also saying how back in Pride Wanderlei always brought a bunch of savages with him to the hotel and they were always screaming and howling all night long.
