If anyother top level athlete is caught using steroids or fails a drug test, their media will absolutely destroy him. If any A list actor has similar problems (ofc not steroid use, but maybe DUI) the media is savage

Jones keeps screwing up and no one has the balls to really call him out on it without sugarcoating it.

Idk man, I'm seeing pretty thorough condemnation of Jones right now.

Almost everyone is/was on something at some point of their career and it's becoming more and more obvious each year. Any pro journalist worth his salt is perfectly aware of it, so why would they suddenly make a big deal out of it.

Mermaids gonna mermaid and sandblasters gonna sandblast. Is normal.

Because they are low low level.

They are getting a paycheck covering a niche sport.. they aren't real media, they won't survive if they had to fight with better reporters for real on the open market.

Don't rock the boat, get a paycheck, get invited to travel and sit and wait 2 hours in the MGM room for Conor to show up.. but you sit in style you are part of the "it event" and you get $.. so you shill away and sometimes maybe you say what you think but never upset to many people and never turn into a diva wanna be like Ariel or pick a fight with Dana.

Because Dana takes away their press credentials if they criticize anything about the UFC.

it's far better that way, the media isn't there to "destroy" anybody, if that's fake outrage and sensationalizing that you want there is plenty of it already don't need any more of it

Main article on Sherdog now:

"Why Jon Jones is the biggest disappointment in MMA history"

So ehh..

Just watch what happened to Ariel Helwani, and he's fairly soft for a journalist. Fired from FOX, blocked from working at Showtime etc.

I disagree. But even if that is slightly true dana and the fans are such dicks it outweighs any "wussy" activity..

i think you mean "journalist." - kenny florian

The Helwani effect. Bunch of slack jawed pussies, MMA media is a joke.

The media defended Peyton Manning when the Growth Hormone story broke, and he blamed his wife.

TS is a fucking moron. NFL doesnt destroy shit. Name a player destroyed for PEDs. im thinking none, ever.

Most of the MMA "media" seem to come off as suck ups, so they can get the EXCLUSIVE interview with a high profile fighter.

Helwani probably does a better job than the UFC in giving a fighter a platform to promote their upcoming fight, but he's more interested in TMZ type reporting, asking a fighter about how much they make (that interview he did with Waterson and straight out asked if it was true she made 12K for a fight and her embarrassing tone confirming it was uncomfortable) and it's always about the 'story lines' pre and post fight. He rarely makes comment specifically laying out how a fight played out.

Same with Okamoto, Iole and Morgan - it's tabloid paper type "journalism" and there is a place for it in the sport, I suppose, but they ask the same type of questions.

Because it is a monopoly based circus where you are allowed if and only if you follow the company agenda. There is no such thing as mma/ufc journalist. Just a bunch of shill selling shits to the crossed over wwe fans.

maybe because juicing doesn't help acting? and it's not a sport competition supposed to be fair, and they don't endanger their oponents/partners?
how dumb can one be to not see the difference ?
you're the wussi for not being able to swallow that your guy is a cheat and not that good.
