Jones definitely. Just look at Khabib against one decent wrestler in his career, he was stuffed like crazy. While Jones outgrappled an olympic level wrestler. Jones is just dangerous in every aspect of grappling, can easier attack with much more diverse number of submissions, is extremely potent in clinch, will take you down in a ways you don’t expect.

But that all is tied into him being a much better striker than Khabib and being much less predictable. He never bumrushes into someone because he isn’t scared to strike and break you down from distance. Whenever opportunity presents itself, Jones will take you down in multitude of ways. So yeah, all tied in into just being a much superior MMA fighter.

Zero takedowns against a one legged Thiago Santos. 2/9 in takedowns against Dominic Reyes. 1/11 against Gus. These guys are not even wrestlers. Meanwhile Tibau has a better TDD% than GSP, roided to the gills and Khabib was 23.

I agree with this same weight can mean so many changes to a fighter, a lighter Jones might not have as much of a speed advantage, an heavier Khabib might not be able to constantly come forwards because of cardio.
Different weightclasses/body types influence fighting so much.

Khabib was more dominant with his wrestling but Jones beaten far more decorated wrestlers. Jones beat Ryan Bader, Rashad Evans, DC, Matyushenko, Jake O'Brien and Chael that all have very respectable amateur wrestling backgrounds, Khabib beat Trujillo and Gaetjhe and that's about it.

DC is any Olympian as well.

Prior to Jones, never taken down.

pretty tough to compare it that way, as jones actually had a striking game he used for more than to get a into clinch.

think of it more as what how well they fared against dc.

Guy is great, amazing one in a lifetime of a fighter

The guy retired early, did not fight often and left with only three title defenses.

The point imo of who is a goat is how long you stay on top, and Jones has been at the top for a decade. We will never know if Khabib would have done the same, but it is highly unlikely.
