Khabib holds the record for most takedowns in a single fight at 21. He did this against Abel Trujillo, a 4x College wrestling all-american and former wrestling state champion. Abel himself is a top notch wrestler, so for him to have been taken down that many times must have been incredibly embarrassing since he comes from a great wrestling pedigree. Trujillo is also built like a short stocky fucking tank, and those type of people are ALOT harder to takedown due to their strong frame (Tibau, Woodley, Mendes, Romero, etc.)

Nate Diaz holds the record for most significant strikes against an opponent against Conor McGregor. Basically, Conor got hit more in one fight than any fighter has ever been hit before. Nate punched Conor a total of 252 times. Conor is known for being an incredibly dangerous and efficient striker.

So whats more impressive to you

Tiramisubibi might be the ONLY guy who fights less often than Nate.

THAT'S a stat worth mentioning.

And still somehow the judges gave Conor the decision lol.

Jesus Christ, was that the actual fight metric of strikes or significant strikes that Diaz landed on McGregor? On the first or second fight?

Regardless, that's bonkers.

it's not too impressive hitting a gassed out zombie a hundred times

Khabib is much more impressive

I think it would be better to have 1 takedown for each round in a fight and just hold him there the whole time. Khabib seemed to be letting him up on purpose.

Khabib
2016 - 2 fights
2015 - 0 fights (recovering from knee surgery)
2014 - 1 fight
2013 - 3 fights
2012 - 2 fights

Total since 2012: 8 fights

Nate

2016 - 2 fights
2015 - 1 fight
2014 - 1 fight
2013 - 2 fights
2012 - 2 fights

Total since 2012: 8 fights

They're even. If we go back further than that then Khabib takes it by a land slide (he fought 7 times in 2011) so I picked a fair cut off point.

Love Nate, but Khabib takes this. Tiramisu or not, what he did that fight was impressive.

My dude.

NAIA

You can't just throw around 'All American' without letting people know what level he was wrestling at.

I'm impressed you chose these two fighters with these two fight-stat records to compare.

This is not true at all. Nate landed 166 significant strikes against Conor. It's not even his own personal best. He landed 238 significant strikes against Cerrone.

TS made up those numbers. Nate landed 166 significant strikes on Conor and did not set a record.

Idk, really if you have a fight with either of those stats you'd expect a finish.
