Who do you think won these close fights

lol. We can disagree you know. And perhaps I will look at the fight again.

If I do, I'll post my thoughts round by round.
Told you. Thats one that no one seems to agree on. I had it for Toney. 116-112, I think.

1. GGG vs Canelo (I thought Canelo had more control throughout the fight and when he went in spurts he showed he was "the dude" in the ring ya know that "Ring Generaliship" thing. But I have no problem with the Draw, totally makes sense to leave it that way, cause Canelo did a BAD job of disguising his taking time off and GGG put in some work during those times. I didn't really score it when I saw it. Still haven't watched a 2nd time. Maybe toniight I will and edit my post.)

2. Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Jose Luis Castillo I (Everytime I see people complain about that outcome I go back and look for something I haven't seen. After a good 5 times watching, I just can't say Castillo did enough to get the nod everytime. It was on the table many times in the fight and he had his chances but just didnt come clean to a lead. I've scored it twice at a Draw and 3 times 7-5 Mayweather. Never seen a reason to have Castillo take the two rounds, just not quite enough.)

3. Manny Pacquiao vs Tim Bradley I
DRAW...No way Manny won that. To many spurts too late in the round, while TB was working consistently. I actually lean to Bradley if I have to pick one.

4. Winky Wright vs Jermain Taylor
I thought Winky edged it 7-5. Should have won the Middleweight Title. AGREED!

5. Ray Leonard vs Marvin Hagler
No controversy for me. 8-4 Leonard. Hagler did not look good imo. Agreed!

6. Erislandy Lara vs Canelo
Lara danced his way out of being a household name, Canelo, 7-5

7. Whitaker vs Chavez
9-3 Whitaker.......

8. Pac vs Marquez III
7-5 Pac..... Marquez looked really good but Manny had the better exchanges, fight #4 had to happen

9. ODLH vs Ike Quartey
Oscar with the KDs wins it.

10. Ken Norton vs Larry Holmes
Gotta watch this one...

1. GGG vs Canelo
7-5 GGG, with some very close rounds. Outlanding Canelo was key.

2. Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Jose Luis Castillo I
7-5 Castillo. Only Floyd fight I don't score for him.

3. Manny Pacquiao vs Tim Bradley I
7-5 Pacquiao. Very close and not as much of a disgrace as many fans said.

4. Winky Wright vs Jermain Taylor
7-5 Wright.

5. Ray Leonard vs Marvin Hagler
6-5-1 Leonard last time I watched it.

6. Erislandy Lara vs Canelo
7-5 Canelo. You've got to throw punches to win rounds.

7. Whitaker vs Chavez
8-4 or 7-5 Whitaker. Closer than many said.

8. Pac vs Marquez III
7-5 Marquez. For the record I scored the first 2 fights for Pac.

9. ODLH vs Ike Quartey
Tricky as fuck. 6-6, DLH wins thanks to the extra KO.

10. Ken Norton vs Larry Holmes
I think I gave it to Norton.

1. GGG

2. Draw or JLC

3. PAC clearly

4. Winky

5. Leonard as much as it pains me to say it

6. Canelo

7. Whitaker clearly

8. Pac really close

9. ODLH

10. I remember really rooting for Norton, but don’t remember who I had winning. I’d have to rewatch and score it.

1. GGG
2. Floyd Mayweather Jr
3. DRAW
4. Taylor
5. DRAW
6.
7. Whitaker
8.
9. Quartey
10. Norton

Also thought that McCallum beat Toney, but it was super close and it could have gone either way

Its kinda interesting to think about how the landscape would have changed if these fights had gone the other way.

Quartey would have had a win over DLH in 99..
Norton would have been HW champion with wins over Ali and Holmes
Winky would have defended the title against Pavlik

Lara would have beaten Canelo. God can you imagine

Yeah like i said, Lara danced his way out of being a household name. Or something along that line.

1. GGG vs Canelo
8-4 GGG

2. Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Jose Luis Castillo I
7-5 for Castillo. Sucks the judges got this one wrong. That would have been huge for Castillo to have the only W over Floyd.

3. Manny Pacquiao vs Tim Bradley I
8-4 Pac for me. Shitty decision but the wrong was righted in the two entertaining rematches.

4. Winky Wright vs Jermain Taylor
Only saw it once. Thought it was a Drawish fight.

5. Ray Leonard vs Marvin Hagler
I've scored this 7-5 both ways. Have it to leonard most recently.

6. Erislandy Lara vs Canelo
9-3 Lara.

7. Whitaker vs Chavez
7-5 Whitaker. Sweet pea won, but this was no one sided beating with a bad decision. Chavez made it a tough night. This was actually a beautiful fight to watch.

8. Pac vs Marquez III
7-5 Pac.

9. ODLH vs Ike Quartey
Had no problem with Oscar winning it but i've never scored this fight.

10. Ken Norton vs Larry Holmes
I don't think i've ever watched this whole fight. If I have it's been a while.

Allright boys, how about the Barrera Morales trilogy?

Sorta interesting question imo. Was wondering what the forum's consensus was on these close/controversial fights

1. GGG vs Canelo
I had it a draw tbh. 6-6

2. Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Jose Luis Castillo I
7-5 for Castillo. One thing that always stuck out to me here, was it was the only time i ever saw Floyd look legitimately nervous before the scorecards were announced.

3. Manny Pacquiao vs Tim Bradley I
7-5 Pac for me.

4. Winky Wright vs Jermain Taylor
I thought Winky edged it 7-5. Should have won the Middleweight Title.

5. Ray Leonard vs Marvin Hagler
No controversy for me. 8-4 Leonard. Hagler did not look good imo.

6. Erislandy Lara vs Canelo
Thought Canelo won 8-4. Lara did nothing the last half of the fight imo

7. Whitaker vs Chavez
8-4 Whitaker.......Baddd decision

8. Pac vs Marquez III
Everyone complained about this one but I had it 7-5 Pac......

9. ODLH vs Ike Quartey
I remember thinking Ike edged it.....but don't remember the actual scorecard

10. Ken Norton vs Larry Holmes
Just watched this today randomly!!!!
Man. Sucks for Norton but I had him winning 143-142. He would have had wins over Ali AND Holmes... Oh well.

thoughts?

1. GGG - 8-4, 7-5
2. Castillo
3. Pacquiao - not that close of a fight
4. Have to watch it again.
5. Draw or Hagler by one point
6. Canelo - 7-5
7. Chavez
8. Pacquiao
9. De La Hoya
10. Draw - Norton got whacked by Foreman and got edged by Holmes so he never got elevated even though he has an Ali win and arguably won their rubber match. Hey, that should be a close fight to have us chime in on.

11. Ali vs Norton III - Norton

of the fights I saw, I agree with your picks except I believe GGG beat Canelo

Allright boys, how about the Barrera Morales trilogy?
I remember flipping through the channels and coming across the first fight. I was caught completely by surprise and was thankful I didn't miss it. My legs were shaking from the adrenaline rush as they made their ringwalks and intros and the fight started. It sure lived up to my expectations. I had Barrera winning a close fight. I don't remember how I scored their next fights.
