I actually think this is a giant mistake for DC. Something about this just feels off.

Short notice, he is kind of doing the UFC a favor by headlining and saving the card when he has Lesnar in the works. This is the type of walk through fight that always derails career trajectories when there’s an upset.

If DC loses to Black Beast, Lesnar/DC is not going to have he same mystic if it’s a non championship fight.

But with the belt, the fight could be record breaking.

Not to mention that DC must keep the belt to set up DC/Jones 3. That’s big for everybody; DC, Jones, and the UFC.

All it takes is for Black Beast to land one clean shot and everything is fucked.

I don't think the UFC really cares much for Lewis. After the fight he just had, with his documented back condition.... He's got some serious odds against him. This fight is a difficult one to see any other outcome than Cormier winning.

If they can get him to 2 defences before he fights Bork, he will be on to equal the HW defences record when he wins. It looks like that's what they want TBH.
