What to put under or over puzzle mat?

Hi!
In our gym we have 2.5 cm puzzle mat and it's some kind of a kick boxing mat. It's so hard we can't do any wrestling or anything because when you land on it it's like stone, literally.
So I wonder is there anything we can put Under it so it can become wrestling viable? Buying another and double the mat is not an option as it's very expensive for us.

puzzle matts arent designed for ground game. they make wrestling matts for that. You could try some carpet, or carpet padding underneath.

You have to spend the money and get a wrestling mat. The puzzle mats I have seen can't be good to wrestle on.

One idea depending on budget for the gym to buy a used wrestling mat. Personal mats are 10 x 10 or 12 x 12 and from time to time I see them available on forums. Also, buying a used wrestling mat from a gym that is closing down or from a high school team that is upgrading. You can even recondition an older mat you buy at a fraction of the cost.
