Newer fans don't understand the speed which he operated at in his prime, some of the fastest hands and could land knees, high kicks, and punches mid combo before securing the plum to finish off dazed opponents. Very unique MMA striking during his hay day.

Just think, if he hadn't fought so timidly (very uncharacteristic performance) against Hendo, and retained his belt. He most likely would've gotten the shot to unify vs Rampage, and his UFC run could have gone very differently.
He just couldnt get back to form so quickly after getting koed by Mirko.
