Sadly just announced though his website, one of my favourite bands and one of the greatest song writing partnerships with Donald :eek::eek:en, RIP you wonderfully cynical man.

Saw these guys 3 times. They will be missed.

It's probably just over your head.

Said every pretentious Steely Dan fan ever.

Do you listen to Math Rock, too? lol

"Peg" is so awesome, it should have a Nobel prize.

R.I.P. you mad genius.

Steely Dan is not math rock. Your timing on this shows a complete lack of class. Good day.

I complimented their production excellence, son.

It was a backhanded compliment, but involved a compliment nonetheless.

Never speak ill of the dead. It's a rare always true social rule of thumb.

Apparently,:eek::eek:en/Becker didn't like this song and wanted to leave it off the album. Personally, I like it quite a bit and loved its use in the movie American Hustle, which, Steely Dan didn't grant permission for inclusion on the soundtrack.

Some of the lyrical references might be pretty obscure but really I wouldn't call Steely Dan an especially challenging listen, there stuff is full of strong melodies and catchy solos just doesn't meet your typical aggressive rock style in tone.

I wouldnt say its hipster music, its more the sure sign you've hit middle age.

Greatest produced horrible music.

Steely Dan is one of my all-time favorite artists and produced - hand's down - the most harmonically sophisticated pop music to ever grace the radio.
