Wanted to see a buddy of mine particularly: Retired Cop from San Antonio, and retired Army.

He won the very first HighPower match I ever attended back in August of 1989.

He's 65 years old now.

jeez all these guys are old and looked like hell now.

Here he is on the line:

We bullshitted about things. About the Greenwood Case in Baytown.

I asked him about a story he once told me about a Killer Cop they had in San Antonio while he was there:

Here's a couple links to it.

It was later made in to a Straight to VHS movie:

My Buddy said he like the Crazy Cop, said he popped two thugs from 150 yards with his 45 one day.

Said if you talked to him, he'd strike you as a real stand up guy, but added if he felt crossed by anyone in anyway you could count on him to come calling for payback.

He said the Partner who whacked him stayed on with the Department until he retired. Said Tucker made money from the movie deal.

He says for sure it was dirty stuff goin down and Tucker was sent to whack Smith.

I told him, Lawyers, Doctors and You Cops always have the best stories!

Here's some more of the old Goons.

Most have to squeeze into their shooting coats these days:

that's all I got.

What can I say I'm boring.....

Bunch of steiners, leupolds, something, and something. Its a mixed bag.

For service rifle its restricted to 4X.

So any scope & reticle combo, with at least 20 useable MOA .

For a match rifle its any power any reticle you want, usually 15-24 power.

What optic is he running?

Oh now I get it. (was on a phone yesterday) My buddy was shooting a Leupold. I didn't examine it very close, was just glad to see he had adapted to the new rules allowing a scope. He used to be pretty stubborn and would bring stuff that handicapped his potential. He used to shoot a really old Army issued M14, that gauged #7 on the barrel erosion gauge. Army usually replaced barrels once they hit #4. He shot real good scores with that rifle.
