Overeem started kickboxing before he started mma

First pro fight was kickboxing match in March of 1999, then he had an mma fight October of 1999.

Edit: you are right wikipedia says he started pro kickboxing fight at 17, in 1997. Although he a started mma training in 1995 it says.
