PBP UFC Fight Night 134: Shogun vs. Smith - PBP Discussion - 10:30am ET/7:30am PT/3:30pm UK

You mean how the business works. Not really a “sport”. More “sports entertainment” than sport.

Call it whatever you want lol

But no one on earth in any job has ever wanted to be paid less for harder work

paid less, but having the potential to turn it into multi millions a year. Meanwhile, miners and various others are out there working for the same amount with little potential upside. There's definitely worse jobs than being a UFC fighter.

The way you get multi millions a year is by fighting guys like Brock lol

Ask a miner if they'd like to do 8 hours of work a day for 100k a year or 16 hours of work a day for 10k a year

And there is your difference between fighting Brock and fighting Stipe. It's an easy decision

gsp never fought brock or any huge mainstream star and was making like $10mm a year.

And how many other fighters have pulled that off? How many fights did Anderson, Aldo and MM win? And they never sold shit

And that has nothing to do with what I said at all. If you offered GSP or any other top fighter more money to fight a guy who sucked they would take it. All of them. Every single prize fighter ever

Some and yes, that’s understandable. He’s younger, faster, probably packs more power in his punches now too. Choosing him over Shogun doesn’t necessarily mean the new breed is here and going to just crush the old guard. That’s just what naturally happens in all sports.

10 years from now, Anthony Smith will be getting KO’d by whoever the Anthony Smith of 10 years from now is.

Brother you just talking about time, there was time when Shogun was considered the New Breed and yes there will come a time when Anthony Smith will become the old guard, but right now he's a part of the New Breed...

thought you meant new breed as in some way more evolved fighters or something, which isn't the case. Fighters haven't gotten that much more evolved than the evolved guys of yesteryear. Less specialists and more jack of all trades kind of thing now.

F all y'all!

What you think of Nick Newel and his UFC contract?

This card sucked and it sucked seeing Shogun get rekt.

Next weekend should be fun though.
