A knee and a hand on the canvas is the definition of a grounded opponent though. He was in a position where if Khabib had kneed or kicked him it would have been deemed an illegal strike and he didn't get in that position voluntarily.

If that's not a knockdown I don't know what is really.

Exactly, through no choice of there own. Nevada doesn't use the new rules though which is why the hand is also a factor here
