UFC 189: Conor McGregor vs. Chad Mendes PBP (Discussion)

Conor's got a solid chin.

However a two week camp Mendes was still able to humble him. Imagine if that 25 minutes mini Mendes that fought Aldo.

I'm pretty convinced now that Aldo will wreck McGee. Aldo is a completely different animal.

I'm just glad Robbie won tonight. That last minute barrage he always does wins him fights. He always starts slow and builds up just like Condit. Gonna be hard rooting against one of em. Fuck Hendricks and his ground hump. Hope he doesn't get another shot.


Anyways, Aldo's got this. Too bad Chad gassed fighting on short notice. Much happier though since Mendes and Frankie are a greater threat to Aldo.
 
All Chad could do was take him down, Conor was never in danger of being submitted. Chad never tasted power like that before. Ooooof!

Dude this shit is so tired. If he was exposed he would have lost. His guard could have been more aggressive but when Mendes tried to do anything but lay in guard and throw those sick short elbows he was reversed and got starched.

Incredible fight. Hats off to both fighters.

He gassed because he was struck with vicious kicks to the body. 3 weeks training camp might not be enough to get through 5 rounds but it should be enough to get through 2. Chad was fucked at the end of the first. Open your eyes haters. Your boy got exposed as nothing more than a takedown specialist. No other offensive tools on offer to trouble the more clinical, more precise and more wickedly powerful Conor.

You also can't admit that Chad accepted the fight with little preparation and on short notice. If you can't see to that then you're a glaring fanboy.

I'm sure they are going to drag it out as long as possible... Aldo will assist that process..
 
Great night of fights. Really good performance by Conor.

Everyone of you bitching about Mendes taking the fight on short notice seem to forget that Conor took a completely different stylistic match up on equally short notice.

But hey the Heavies are gonna heavy.

I get Mendes didnt have a full camp, but McGregor didnt have a full camp to train for a wrestler either...works both ways, but sherdoggers never acknowledge that.
