Don’t count your Noble Peace Prize before you meet.

So close to doing something significant that wasn't a tax cut for billionaires and corporations... so close.

Maybe next time Trumpsters?

The reason I say "possibly" is that for some weird reason I can find this story on a dozen + local news sites, but no main CNN, FOX, ABC, BBC actual ones right now. Normally the local stations follow, not lead

Trump- "I was very much looking forward to being there with you. Sadly, based on the tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in your most recent statement, I feel it is inappropriate, at this time, to have this long-planned meeting," Trump wrote. "Therefore, please let this letter serve to represent that the Singapore summit, for the good of both parties, but to the detriment of the world, will not take place."

Edit: Now it's showing up. Odd that there was indeed a 5 minute delay from when my little rural Wisconsin station pushed the story to facebook and anything coming up when googling the story other than other local news sites

I feel bad for all the North Koreans living in perpetual slavery, abject poverty, and all under the watchful eyes of so many tyrants.

That some American Liberals and Conservatives can chortle or gnash their teeth about Noble Peace Prizes is a due luxury of freedom.

Let's not take it for granted, or turn all of our emotions towards the Orange Man in the Oval Office.

You can't fire me, I quit.

I'm not too keen on Trump making buddies of dictators.

He doesn't have the wisdom to keep some distance. He clearly doesn't have the temperament to negotiate with finesse, a diplomatic touch.

I'm going to withhold comment on the NK thing specifically. Instead I'll just comment on something else. Some people claim that no one wants to credit Trump for the good things he's doing. My response has always been that the issue isn't that people won't praise him, so much as his supporters want to credit him for things that he doesn't deserve credit for. This is just one more example.

If he resolves the Korean thing then he deserves credit when it happens. But slurping the man's nuts for very early stage conversations was stupid.

Very unfortunate but I’d be lying if I said I expected it to actually happen. I do think the communication is a step in the right direction and I like the wording of the letter.

Of all my gripes about Trump, his coddling China's Xi whenever China acts diplomatic is grating and cheapens everything.

But Trump, for better or worse, is about cheap. You're literally on his side, or persona non grata.

Oh no... this threatens to become all about Trump again, when everything about North Korea and almost everything about the Mainland of China is what is truly reprehensible.
