This is why TJ is ALWAYS improving and doing so at a pretty fast rate even still to this day.
TJ is one of the few true top level fighters that actually looks better every single time we see him. He's been at the top for years now and usually we see fighters reach their full potential already, they already hit their ceiling and such, but with TJ it's like there is no ceiling and he just keeps getting better and better. He did the right thing leaving TAM. He's surrounded himself with the right people to push him to a new level all the time. He shouldn't be hated for leaving TAM.
Fighters switch gyms all the time and that's OK but, TJ does it and apparently he's the devil for it. TJ wasn't wrong when he said Urijah is just pissed about him leaving because it means he's losing money. Since leaving TAM, TJ has been better than ever. He did the right thing by continuing to work with Duane because they just make a great team. They flow perfectly together and that's important in combat sports. Like Tyson with Cus, GSP with Firas, Jones with Greg Jackson, and believe it or not, Conor with Kavanagh and the list goes on.
The video in the OP is exactly why TJ is the best BW in the world. He's always working with THE best in the world. Seriously, who else have we heard of in MMA that got to train with Lomachenko or Terrence Crawford? TJ did great at TAM, but he's brought himself to a different level now by going to Colorado and working with the elite of the elite from other sports, including his own. He did what's best for his career and it paid off in a huge way.
Most of you guys would've did the same thing if it meant taking your career to the next level and providing for your family and such because that's what it's about. I understand the loyalty to your friends/teammates and all that, but what's more important? You do what's best for you and your family, fuck what anybody else thinks. If Urijah, Cody, and all the other pissed off TAM members truly gave a damn about TJ in any way, they'd understand why he did what he did.
It was never about their (TJ and Urijah's) past/friendship/loyalty etc, it was always about Urijah lining his pockets. That's why he was so pissed off about TJ going elsewhere. He would lose money and possibly some recognition for his gym. Having a UFC champ in your gym, especially after the performance against Barao and others he destroyed - this could attract a lot of people to join the gym, which again would mean more money for Urijah. It was all about money and anybody that doesn't get that is blind.
TJ will soon be the GOAT BW.
