Media Throwback: McGregor dismantling Max Holloway

theres this thing we call prime
conor haters doesnt know this thing

wait till your favorite fighters start to lose
lets see who has more money in the end
who has more belts in the end

Huh?

Why are you bragging another man's wealth? WTF does it have to do with you?

Chill bro, dude doesn't even know you. Stop the riding.

Why would I hurt UFC cashcow? after all I'm a UFC fan.

Also there is something called weight classes preventing us 6ft9 330lbs 7% sherdoggers from competing in MMA. You should now.
good response man I don't even know why anyone watches these Manlet divisions. anything under SHW is basically WMMA

3-2 Max who was 21 years old.

Nothing to see here folks

Are Joe Duffy and Artemij Sitenkov just bad matchups for Conor or was he less experienced back then? Conor stans being hypocrites.

This is stupid. Max was obviously green at 21, just like Conor himself was when he was younger and getting easily taken down and subbed. They both elevated their game at about 24 a few years after their early losses.
So styles don't make fights? Max hadn't had a harder time against long south paws?

Your whole post is bullshit.

I guess Dustin styling on max at 2 different weights didn't have anything to do with it being a bad matchup. Ffs even max h in a recent interview talked about styles make fight and Dustin and volk were just bad stylistic matchups

But he wouldn't mind a 3rd fight against Dustin, and I'm sure a 4th with volk.

To act like you know for a fact max is leaps and bounds better than conor is assured. Like I said Conor very well could be just like Dustin & volk and be a bad match up style wise.

You need to actually pay attention to what you're watching.

Yair was giving max so much trouble standing he had to resort to wrestling to win that fight.

Yair another long distance striker with kicks.
But hey.. I'm sure you're are right lmao

There's a reason that neither Conor nor his fans show any interest in running this one back.
Conor literally asked to step in for Frankie to fight Max.

Max was obviously not as good as his prime, but his FW streak begins immediately after the Conor fight. Even Max himself says getting his ass kicked by Conor is what made him try and level up.

The potential for a great Max was still there, even if you can acknowledge he was still on his way there.

The fact that that Conor of all people was able to hold down Max with a bad knee shows how far removed Max was from his current form.

He didn't even have a real striking coach at the time and was two fights removed from getting a gift decision over Leonard Garcia.
Let's stop with the hyperbole.

Max doesn't even have a real team now either.

Max still broke Conors knee in that fight

Max is one of the few fighters to have steadily become sturdier and improved over time, sans a few bumps here and there. He looks stronger and better than he has ever been.

The opposite can be said of McGregor. He's like the Reverse Blessed.

<{outtahere}>

Conor had twice as much MMA experience when he fought Max who just hit drinking age. (21 in USA)

Max was only a young kid in the game when he fought prime Conor. Hell Prime Conor had to resort to panic grappling a young kid in Max who broke his foot in the 1st round to get the win.

Certainly that loss to Conor made a man out of Max and his whole MMA game improved exponentially

Now that Max is in his actual prime as a grown man he would beat Conor in a rematch.
He sprained his ankle supposedly. He never broke his foot in that fight. And conor tore his acl he was lucky to even finish the fight not to mention win it.

You guys have serious revisionist history.

Conor tore his acl and was green at the time too. People just can’t accept styles make fights and Conor would outbox max at any time. Max struggles against better boxers

That fight would go much differently today, similar to Conor v Poirier 2 and 3. Max was only 22 back then and having close fights with fighters like Leonard Garcia. He didn't morph into his final form until a few years later.
lol hell no, max loses to superior boxers, he would lose to Conor at any time unless he becomes a dagestani wrestler.

Dustin beat a washed inactive Conor, he clearly wasn’t the same fighter when Dustin beat him and Conor still was competitive and won the first round

2024 Holloway would likely beat the snot out of 2015 McGregor. The original McGregor Holloway fight was in 2013 when Max was only 22 years old. For comparative purposes, when McGregor was 22, he was getting submitted in 38 seconds by Joe Duffy in the B Leagues.
Max was only 22 yet went on a legendary run. lol Conor was the last one to beat him for years, he even out wrestled max

Prime Conor was the best striker in featherweight history. 2015 version of Conor would still beat any FW to ever do it.

Tore his ACL in this fight, which was probably why there was no finish. It was odd watching him ground and pound Max but made sense when everyone found out he tore the ligament midfight.

TS conveniently leaves out the fact that Max was 21.

Out of curiosity, what do you think 25-year-old Max would do to 21-year-old Conor. For frame of reference, Max was already UFC champion and had beaten Aldo and Pettis when he was 25. Meanwhile, Conor got subbed by Joe Duffy when he was 22.
Dumb comparison. It’s fight experience that matters not age, Conor only gad a few fights when he was subbed. He only had one fight in the ufc when he beat max too, so max had far more experience
