Good that he is finally sentenced. Was worrying that he would get away with it. The guy seems to have too much luck. There were 8 charges against him for several assaults. The guy has beaten up people in almost any club in Amsterdam and got away with it too many times.
In 2014 he was sentenced to 1,5 years in prison but he appealed. For his appeal his sentence was increased to 2 years of which 10 months on probation and he has to pay €45000 in damages. He appealed again (literal translation from Dutch: he went into cassation), but he lost the case at the supreme court.
When you deduct the time he has been in pre-arrest, he still has to serve 6 months in prison.
The crazy twist in this story is that Koen Everink, the guy Badr Hari assaulted at Sensation has been murdered in the meantime. Koen Everink was a millionaire who was the CEO of a travel agency. The murder is unrelated to Badr Hari and involves Mark de J., a tennis coach of quite a high profile Dutch tennis player. His coach apparently had gambling issues and was €20,000 in debt to Everink. Mark de J. stabbed Everink tens of times in his house. Afterwards he made up a story that he was just visiting and when he left the house he was kidnapped by 4 Moroccan guys who blindfolded him. They went into the house of Koen Everink and murdered him and they left the tennis coach somewhere in the woods. None if this is very believable, since later a very expensive watch of Koen Everink was found in the house of Mark de J's parents.
