When you are getting ur head caved in n destroyed for 2.5 rounds ... its hard for someone to have composer when they get a hail mary opportunity that arrives out of nowhere.

It is hard, but I think composure is one of the main things that stops Edson being elite, his technique is very good.

When you see Edson throw those kicks with ridiculous power and speed even while completely gassed and badly hurt it really hammers home the significance of muscle memory.
