Both are great but I can watch Goodfellas on repeat whereas I've seen the GF a couple times but never really get excited to watch it again.

Godfather for sure. I highly recommend the book, really fun read. Thought the movie was the best and truest adaptation of a book I have ever seen. I was spot on with the details and vide.

They trimmed the fat from the book that's for sure. The Lucy arc and Jonny Fontaine...

Yeah, I don't find it boring as much as I think the pacing is a bit slow especially compared to Goodfellas that has no lulls at all.

True story - Brando was introduced to Gotti who admired his performance in Godfather. Brando had been learning card tricks at the time and did one with him. At the end he was expecting people to laugh and clap but no one reacted as too scared of offending Gotti and making him feel stupid.

Brando read the room correctly and told Gotti how nice it was to meet him. Then made a hasty exit.

Goodfellas was very good but not in the same league IMO.

Just one of the many timeless classic scenes.

Godfather is a classic but it’s a dated movie with a couple lulls along the way. As far as mafia movies go it’s goodfellas, casino, godfather For me.

both classics but I prefer the Godfather. Love how stately and beautiful the cinematography is. Goodfellas is much more punchy and modern but it definitely fits the pace of the story and its script. But TBH I prefer Casino to both and think it's head and shoulders above Goodfellas as Scorcese's best mob movie
