Uchiyama was one of my absolute favorites these last 10 years or so. He had dynamite in his hands and he was extremely strong. Sometimes got into exchanges he shouldn't have but he'd gut through and just throw into opposition. Pretty smart fighter, way too bad he's retiring but he's 37.

Most people on here will know of Miura because of his fights here in the USA, specifically his war with Vargas and his most recent loss vs Berchelt. This dude just stood in the pocket and pushed peoples shit in if they were brave enough to stand there with him. His left was his best weapon, and quite honestly he did rely on it too much. Still a fun fighter to watch.

Gonna miss these guys, fortunately we still have young talent coming up from Japan.

Clearly the right thing to do for both men.

good time to retire.
uchiyama was unbeatable for so many years. 37 is a long life for boxing.
we all know his prime was years past.. i always like how calm he was, but would hit like a sledge hammer with percision.

miura was kind of the opposite. agressive, old school, guts and power.

both were KO machines. fun to watch.
would have liked to see uchiyama fight in the US during his prime. japanese promoters need to more about that.
maybe its more up to the fighters initiating like inoue.
