As the old saying goes: imitation is the best form of flattery

Saw two movies this weekend that Reeked of John Carpenter's influence.

1. THE VOID
Canadian no less.

Wasn't sure what I was in for, but once I realized I was watching a movie consisting of:

The Thing
Prince of Darkness
In the Mouth of Maddness

I rather enjoyed it, sort've. I mean if you going to copy, might as well copy one of the better filmmakers of the genre. Although, like the old goon said:

“Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the men of old; seek what they sought.”

Another was written by a couple of Frenchmen.

2. SAM WAS HERE

Get a load of the music:

Sam was Here:

It's like they went to the John Carpenter School of Music.

Here's the entire vid

Have you heard of a 70's band called 'The Carpenters' ?

Yes, they owe their Career to Little Enos!
