I think its ridiculous the push he gets to be considered the GOAT. Ive actually stopped watching MMA Beat and MMA hour cause those guys dont miss a single fkin oportunity to talk about how great Jones is ... just ridiculous
And imo the fact that he doesnt fight bigger guys takes him off the ludacris discussion that is P4P and GOAT status.Its a stupid discussion.
But if not mistaken you havent mentioned Demetrious in this discussion , on for that , im disapoint.

Which one of your favorite fighters did Jones obliterate? Was in Shogun? It was Shogun, wasn't it. It's okay, no one can ever take 2005 away from you.
 
-Jones was still allowed to fight DC the first time despite testing positive for Cocain which caused an uproar.

-Jones is the only champion to ever be stripped due to committing felony crimes

Someone like Jones, you expect karma to hit him pretty soon and voilently. If/when Jones gets KOd its going to be far worse then Ronda...and Jones will deserve every ounce of it

I had it a close 48-47. That last round was a complete joke and the most magnificent thing that happened was a Cormier slammeroony. Other than that, 2, 3 cormier.

Again lets add some perspective, when you strictly compare stats and numbers to GSP, Fedor, or even Aldo durring their runs, Jones doesnt compare.

Like they say, men lie/have bias etc, especially fanboys, but numbers never lie

-Fedor and GSP each had far more top 5 wins, many wins over actual pound for pound ranked fighters, and actually beat opponents who were in their primes and on long winning streaks. (Jones "accomplishments" only look good on paper, but when you actually examine and apply context, it starts to fall apart from the seams)

-Jones was hit 191 times by Gustafsson.

-AGAIN! Gus hit Jones 191 times at 69%. I mean holy snaps right !

-Let this sink in, Jones has been hit MORE in 1 fight alone, then Conor McGregor has been hit in his entire career combined 2x over.

-Jones has been hit more in 1 fight alone, then Dominick Cruz has been hit in his entire career combined 3 times over

- Judges had DC and Gus winning 2 rounds (Most fan polls had Gus winning the fight) Barring a gimmie match against OSP who had just been finished by Glover (whom still took Jones to decision btw) Jones had lost 4 of his last 10 rounds. Meanwhile GSP went through long streaks of never losing a round. Same went for Fedor.

As we come back to the saying from earlier, to wrap this up, Men lie. Numbers never lie. I dont see how anyone in their right mind who has actually followed MMA over the years can claim Jones is the GOAT. Greatest LHW? Sure. GOAT? Not even close according to the facts, the numbers and stats, in comparison to GSP/Aldo/Fedor...even other GOAT contenders. For example Matt Hughes has more finishes then Jones has total fights

Well, right off the bat, he beat more than just Vera and Bader. If you're talking after his 'loss' the UFC was clear they were continuing as if he had won, because he beat the holy shit out of the Hammer.

Shogun wasn't injured. Recovered from injury isn't injured. And either way, he took the fight (a fight many, many on this forum claimed he'd win easily by breaking Jones' 'chicken legs').

It's been over 5 years since he won the belt from Shogun. It's just shocking that the division looks different now. Lol.

You obsess a lot about finishing for someone who is pointing to GSP as being better.

And claiming he's lost 'a lot of rounds' is just bullshit. He lost 1 round (not 2) to DC (49-46 on all scorecards) and 2 to Gus. Who else took a round off him? Dare you to say Machida, even though 2 of the 3 judges gave the first round to Jones. GSP lost rounds to Shields, Condit and Hendricks (arguably lost the fight).

Lol at relying on striking stats to begin with, but you're using fake stats from the Gus fight.

Has Jones been finished like McGregor was? Has he been finished like Cruz was?

Worst thread ever. Anyone who watched the first DC JJ fight and thinks DC won is a moron. It was a clear victory by JJ. You could tell DC had nothing for him after round 1 but he still put up a good fight. But it wasn't 'close'. Eff that.

Jones is not even the best boxer of LHW, nor the best kickboxer, nor the best grappler, meaning hes not exceptionally skilled at anything. Oh, the shogun only lost cause he was injured again. He wasn't injured. He was completely rehabbed. and jones utterly destroyed him. This is a bad troll job in my mind. How can jones be a natural heavyweight, when he walks around at 225lbs, when hes not fighting. That buddy boy, is not a natural heavyweight. He only cuts 20lbs to make weight. That is probably alot less than many fighters.

Cruz doesn't get hit much, cause he's busy "moving" around, throwing very little. That's why the guy has had so many split decision wins. There was a time, cruz was hated here. I still don't like how cruz fights. but he doesn't get hit, cause he's mainly a defensive fighter, while jones is offensive.

Just listing facts

Jones is the greatest LHW.

But I cant help but facepalm when I hear shit like "might just be the best fighter ever" or "pound for pound #1"

Whats even more disturbing is that the same "people" who worship Jones will shit on REAL GOAT contenders like GSP/Fedor

They will shit on GSP for decisions YET ignore that Jones has been to decision in his last 4 fights in a row, and or that Jones has only ever finished 1 LHW since an injuried Shogun

These facts are to shed light and debunk myths.

Yet Gsp/Aldo/ Fedor had more years of dominance while beating more top 5 and p4p ranked fighters, while beating prime opponents who were on win streaks.

Heck, if you just look purely at wins even Shogun has had better more meaningul significant wins against prime opponents.

Bias will be bias, but the facts never lie. The numbers prove Jones isnt the GOAT and that others deserve it more. Its actually disrespectful to the legends who worked hard and earned it, to blow them over for Jones. It sounds crazy to say Jones is over hyped because hes such a terrible PPV draw, but the way some people prop him up while shitting on other legends def makes Jones over rated IMO
