This guy would fuck his mom if it benefited him in some way. If he doesn’t cut, it’s because he can’t, and because he feels better at WW. Not everyone has the ability to cut massive weight like Costa, different bodies function in different ways. He’s also not particularly small, you’re talking as of he was BJ Penn’s size lol. colby was not small. if anything he was bigger than edwards. hes been the bigger guy in basically every fight except the usman ones.

At 5'11" he is bigger than pretty much all the top ranked lightweights. So I imagine he physically can't cut to 155. Even 170 is probably not an easy cut for him.

And look at the heights of previous welterweight champs. Most of them are smaller than Covington. GSP 5'10", Matt Hughes 5'9", Johnny Hendricks 5'9", Tyron Woodley 5'9". And also other top WW's contenders, Belal is 5'10", Gilbert Burns 5'10". It's only because Shavkat, Leon and Usman are quite tall in comparison that makes Colby seem small. But Colby is in the correct weight class, he's just not good enough to beat the top competition.

Moving down wouldn't give Colby an edge because the weight cut would destroy the only advantage he might have, which is his cardio. Also the competition at lightweight is arguably more stacked and higher than at welterweight, so I don't see what Colby would gain from moving down.

No, you don't have to respect that, and as a hs athlete, he competed at 171, and in college, he competed at 165. Any professional athlete in a sport that isn't endurance running is going to carry more muscle as a fully grown and developed adult than a young adult or high school kid. And the sport he competed in was one where they cut weight.

So the claim that he could "easily" get down to 155 is a claim without anything to back it up.

The reason he doesn’t fight at LW is because he can’t. He walks at 188-190 and is 6’0. He’d have to kill himself to make LW
