It seems like a superior version of your typical rnc, because how are you going to fight the hands when their hands are all the way behind your neck? Chinzo was hopeless as soon the choke was locked in, and so did Chiesa. How are you supposed to fight It? And why don't more people use the choke the way these guys do?(unless I'm mistaken)

the gable grip is a lot less powerful than the traditional RNC and it is less secure if your opponent is turning into it

you defend it by still handfighting like defending the traditional figure four grip, and not letting them lock their hands together and trying to turn towards them/turn your back to the mat. also not letting his arm under your chin in the first place
