Normally, it takes a couple weeks to put these numbers together, so if this turns out to be wolf tickets, I'll remove it. Lance Pugmire of the LA Times is a legit source.

Article from the LA Times:

The UFC has struggled for pay-per-view buys — as it did Saturday, when an industry official said less than 150,000 purchased the Robert Whittaker-headlined card in Chicago — while the highly popular, animated former champion who has fought from 145 to 170 pounds went skidding off the rails.
Bolded and underlined for emphasis.

6/14 Update from Dave Meltzer

The Los Angeles Times reported this show, which was filled with stars, did less than 150,000 buys on PPV. We don’t have any solid figures but other early estimates are far above that. By next week we should have something that at least confirms the range of how it did.

6/19 Update from Dave Meltzer

http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Report-UFC-225-Estimated-at-250000-PayPerView-Buys-138285

"Despite being one of the promotion’s deeper cards of 2018, it doesn’t appear that UFC 225 was a massive pay-per-view success.

According to a report from MMAFighting.com, the June 9 event drew an estimated 250,000 pay-per-view buys. That figure is per industry sources and combines purchases through television providers as well as streaming.

For 2018, that number would place UFC 225 behind UFC 220, which was headlined by a heavyweight title clash between Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou, and UFC 223, which featured a lightweight title tilt pitting Khabib Nurmagomedov against Al Iaquinta, according to the report."

Dude we just deleted another fake thread with higher numbers...

Too bad it was a good card

Btw who is Jed Goodman and how does he know?

"The UFC knows that putting CM Punk on the main card will increase the numbers. They are doing what's best for business."

Will be interesting to see where this crowd claiming that disappears to.

No way. There were no WMMA headliners and CM Punk and Michael Jackson were on the card for Christ sake.

Difference is, that thread was quoting a newsletter that isn't released until tomorrow.

I'm not surprised, motherfuckers.

It was a really solid card, so this is surprising.

To the fans who said Punk would add 150k buys to the PPV, what say you now?

Scrap the PPV model except when Conor or Brock fight. Make a BT Sport type subscriber service for the rest of the world.

THen instead of making a thread your not sure of, why dont we wait until meltzer releases the numbers tomorrow, if he does.

It just creates more panic for something we dont know for sure yet.
