sponsors would pay the fighters so the UFC wouldn't have to. But no. Now the UFC has to pay almost the whole check. NASCAR doesn't pay anyone, drivers compete for the opportunity to drive and show sponsors. Costs NASCAR nothing. Way better business model.

The UFC got free money for the Reebok deal. It was a decent deal. For the UFC. Not for the fighters, sucks for them.

It is what it is. Reebok is here to stay.

Reebok is a d level brand befitting of d level sports

UFC could still have done the Reebok deal, gotten rid of banners and allowed fighters 3 patches and the fighters probably would have been fine. Instead they unilaterally took away a significant chunk of fighter income.

Biggest thing is that there is no financial reason for a hot prospect who has a couple loyal sponsors to sign with the UFC if Bellator is offering the same pay.

Reebok pays the UFC a lot of money. The fighters just don't see it.

UFC do not pay anything, reebok does.

The UFC implemented a sponsor tax so basically no small time company could really sponsor the athletes.

The UFC wanted 50k plus a year from smaller companies to sponsor UFC fighters. They probably charged more for the big sponsors.

Guaranteed sponsor money for the fighters without paying a manager get them sponsors. Possible better future the deals.
Idk what else could be a positive for it. UFC should have gathered multiple sponsors to go with the reebok deal so the fighters pay would be much higher

The idea was a good idea. It makes them look more professional, and separates them from the bush leagues.

The execution, however, was terrible.
