Hi all,

looking at adding a punchbag to the garage training area. it'll need to go on the wall as despite having roof joists visable, they aren't very strong. It's only a sheet steel roof.

The floor to ceiling is a little over 7ft so assume a 6ft bag will be the max I can get in.

I'd thought about running two wooden battens horizontally along the wall and drill them in and the bracket onto that just to get it well anchored.

Any thoughts? any recomendations?

After having 3 punch bag brackets that snapped in the space of two years I went with a heavy duty one from geezers boxing UK online. Solid as fuck my man. Wasn't that pricey compared to the cost of 3 cheap ass ones.

Just get a wall-mounted pull-up bar and hang the heavy bag on it. Now you can do pull-ups too.

I'm assuming you mean a brick wall?
