Created an interesting debate at work. People were saying she was mental etc... I said "so what makes it different when A man says he wants to be a woman?"

There was a lot of silence as people backed away from the topic. One person said "that's different". Couldn't explain how though.

I wanted to go further, as it would be an interesting debate, but I like my job.

I know someone who thinks the same and hasn't watched BB, The Wire or GOT as a result. I ask "would you walk out of a movie if it didn't wow you in the first 10 minutes?" His response is "meh"

Except The Wire hooked me first episode. So did plenty of others that weren't even great but at least left me interested in seeing where they go with it. Ten minutes isn't an hour and is a random time within a movie, not the end of an encapsulated episode. If you cant set your story and lay hooks that leave me wanting more within the time frame you set for yourself to end your episode, then I'm not gonna be back for more. and I even gave them another episode or two at that, I'd rather watch people live play Dungeons and Dragons

I get it man. It took me 3 attempts over 2 years to get into it. It was only when almost everyone, whose views on shows I respect, told me I was being lame. Gave it a proper go and loved it ever since. Fair enough though, it does start out pretty slow.
