by the time your kid is 11 or so, they wont even let you take pictures of them, and they're gonna figure out how to create their own accounts. if the kid got a phone at 11, no way are they going to be denied for long..... ideally, in highschool is where they should get their phone because of easy logistics, but before that is unnecessary. Why do parents do this?
I questioned friends last weekend as to why they started an instagram profile page for their 7 year old daughter. It was bad enough they were constantly posting her pics on their pages, but now shes front and center with her own account. Dressing and posing too provocatively for a kid imo.
They pushed back and said it was fine...shes happy and enjoys it. I began talking to them about the dangers of this. A colleague of mine had to delete her 11 year old daughters account and took her phone away cause they discovered she was getting dm'd by grown men.
Predators use Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc., constantly. Its easy. Before these guys would have to venture the darkweb for endless kiddie pics, now....its everywhere. All you have to do is create an account. The craziest part is parents who give their kids phones at young ages or allow then to even have these accounts or start it for them from young ages.
Its sickening to me. All for likes and attention? Are people so addicted to this crap that they live in constant ignorance out of fear their pristine worlds would get shattered if they gave in to reality?
People who constantly post pics of their kids on social media are bonkers imo. Sad thing is, more and more people are doing it and its just giving these sleeze bags endless content and opportunities.
Watch how much worse it gets when deep fake software gets more advanced and easier to use.

I believe most people are so caught up in their social media universe that its pretty much just normality at this point. This is the world they exist in.
Pretty soon, telling someone that social media is bad for their family is gonna be like telling them junk food is bad for their family. You wont be able to. It'll be as accepted as mcdonalds or cocktails at the bar. It probably already is, who am I kidding.
Wtf does sex ed have to do with pedophiles? Im pretty sure thats not a topic discussed in sex ed. I think sex ed doesnt mean what you think it means. It's really not. Kids should be aware of this shit so they know right away if some POS pedo tries to go after them.
It's sad because if you take social media away from a kid, it makes them a social outcast. It's like a parent is forced to poison their child's mind because not poisoning their mind is going to be worse for them.
This is something that every parent should be looking to fix but the problem is that the parents are addicted to it as well. I really don't want the government to have to step in on this but it's really something that people can't protect themselves from.
I have a niece who only shares photos in private, but I don't honestly know if it makes a difference. There's going to be lots of people regretting putting 1000's of their own pictures online in the very near future, let alone their kids.
"AI Deepfake Porn-O-Matic 5000" is gonna fuck everyone up.
Many probably aren't thinking. You wonder what the thinking is for some parents.
Yeah, that's gonna be a no from me, dog.Why do parents do this?

I won't ever be making an exclusive profile for my kids. I do include them in things I post on stories or whatever. It's only up for 24hrs. Most predators are someone known to the victims BTW. Be careful who you trust with your kids and make sure they receive proper sex Ed.
That would depend on how much you trust the people she's sharing photos with. OnlyFans "private" content gets leaked all the time. On the whole, normies will be effected within their community. If this shit ever gets to a point where you can just type in a name(with some other filters, like location and whatnot), and the AI scours the web for pictures of that person to make whatever it is you want to make from that, normies are gonna be affected by their friends, family, and acquaintances, but not blow up globally if someone were to upload their fantasy to the web, like if they were a celebrity. Still quite the violation, and WAY more personal.I have a niece who only shares photos in private, but I don't honestly know if it makes a difference.
That’s cool but you don’t know who can see their pics on their end . In other words if the family is tagged in your pics then if their settings allow it to show up on their page , then their friends can see the pic . Actually FB has facial recognition so it can show up even if you don’t tag em in the pic from your page . Not calling you out , just saying it’s a reality .it depends who are your friends on fb
I post my kid photos all the time, but I actually have two lists of people, friends vs acquaintences. Friends are mostly family members, acquaintences are my professional work colleagues, friends from high school/college, they are not actually on my friends list. Not only are my kids posted, but my nephews and nieces, and that's fine because they go nowhere except for my very small inner circle. my entire list of friends and acquaintences are about 100 folks, friends list is maybe 30?
all depends how you use it, you can restrict the hell out of it, and all of my acquaintances find out when they "friend me". Sometimes we do this over group chat, but that is most often reserved for texting rather than sharing media, since that doesnt work so well.
That's a red flag for me. Those parents have a missing link somewhere between their morality and judgementThey pushed back and said it was fine...shes happy and enjoys it.
you can block tagging, at minimum have review tags, and that's how my settings are. That’s cool but you don’t know who can see their pics on their end .
