There is a big difference between believing that somebody looks awful but keeping it to yourself, and constantly insulting people on their appearance. When somebody posts a picture of their unattractive girlfriend, I don't tell them that, I just keep it to myself. That is the polite thing to do.

honestly I think Trump feels he can do both, enrich himself and his family and bring "America back to its glory days" unfortunately he has always had an idealism of the WW II era US, where Germany and Japan are the bad guys and the Soviets/Russians are people we need to have an tenuous partnership with to overcome the evils. I also don't think he feels its dishonest that he and his family enrich themselves, pretty much every president does to some level but he doesn't have the nuanced many of doing it that his predecessors did. I honestly think Trump's whole campaign was originally part of a ploy to get a television show or some other new media endeavour in the realm of right wing/tea party/anti-establishment show, his whole schtick was going to be how he was screwed out of the election by the powers that be, I bet his reaction to winning was probalby just as shocked as her's was.

She is an idealist that just by her reaction on election night was in over her head. I'd say she will be a hot mess and quickly be dismissed, but after the history of some of the others on both sides of the aisle she's going to fit right in.
