Nick Diaz entire career is severely overrated

When you look at the record in itself it doesn't look good. But when you look at what he's managed to do in fights he's very impressive.

It's not so much his record, but how he does against his opponents.

He still outlanded Condit with significant strikes, Condit outlanded him though if we count those point leg kicks that did nothing.

Fight was boring and could have gone either way, but we all know Diaz didn't make it the snooze fest it was.

Scoring system is always going to suck because there are only three or five rounds. We will see a ton more draws etc etc if judges start throwing around 10-8s for very clear round wins. Now if the UFC did five three minute rounds for normal fights and say eight or nine three minute rounds for championship fights then the scoring could be more flexible in my opinion.

What you're suggesting is pretty much the same thing, something with more granularity. More rounds could work but I think having the possibility of 9,5, 8.5 rounds to create more granularity would also work fine.

Or are you saying that Penn did as well in round 1 as Nick did in round 2? He clearly didn't, so why should they be scored the same?

He also defeated MrCyborg, Denny, Mushin Corbbery, and Ray Steinbess, who I know you won't care about but are still quality wins.

Won't flame, but this would be an awful scoring.

Even if round 3 was 'close' it was clear that Diaz had completely taken over and BJ was basically strolling on to survive, even if it wasn't a beatdown like a 2nd round.
