I'm pretty sure all the top guys fighting in lumpinee or raja are signed to a promoter.don't think there are many exclusive fighters in any promotion.
Highest level fights take place at Lumpinee and Rajadamnern. They are nothing more then vanues were the big promoters put on their shows.

probably says thank you for finding me fightsand the fighter has no say in this?
Please explain what you mean by that. I'm a big combat sports gambler who bets every week on MMA & boxing, but there are almost never any odds available on any sportsbook or bookmaker I am aware of for muay thai fights or cards of any kind anywhere in the world. Except once 5Dimes has odds on a couple of Lion Fight bouts when Tiffany Van Soest headlined. Any gambling on muay in Thailand or elsewhere around the world must only be available locally in person not online. Or maybe in a native language like Thai on some local site. I'd love to be shown differently.gambling is the big difference with promotions in the western world

I wonder if there are online gambling sites in Thai language for the Thais watching the national sport on tv at home who want to wager as well. Probably impossible for a foreigner to use, but I'm curious if they exist or if you have to literally be there in person.LOL
The majority of the audience at Muay Thai events in the stadiums (where the sport matters) are gambling live in person.
there are sites that provide odds etc... lots of Facebook pages too, not able to actually bet online though seeing as it is illegal outside of the stadiumsI wonder if there are online gambling sites in Thai language for the Thais watching the national sport on tv at home who want to wager as well. Do they still allow the phone betting with the guys walking around with 15 cell phones stuck to a board?there are sites that provide odds etc... lots of Facebook pages too, not able to actually bet online though seeing as it is illegal outside of the stadiums
I went down a deep rabbit hole yesterday following Google links reading about muay thai betting and one of the blog articles had a photo of a Thai guy wearing a vest with a bunch of cell phones attached to it, lol. The whole scene there seems exactly like what I would expect from a third world country. Apparently the fighters themselves or their camps or backers have to put up money for side bets to be taken seriously and even get fights in many cases and then the bettors in the crowd make very specific hand signals in the crush of sweaty people around them to make bets with fellow gamblers or with someone in their section orchestrating the action, rather than having a house or bookie who they are betting against. Some of the articles talked about betting corruption or collusion with the judges. Supposedly the scoring system and the pace of the fights themselves are heavily influenced by the gambling. Apparently there's no technology widely available like what we have elsewhere for boxing or MMA and other sports where you can just sit home and bet on your computer.Do they still allow the phone betting with the guys walking around with 15 cell phones stuck to a board?
Well at least you don't have as obvious robberies as in european (ie france) muay thai/kickboxing, because all the gamblers are very well aware of the scoring system. If there is a robbery, the gamblers won't be happy. The only controversial decisions i've seen have been in very close fights.I went down a deep rabbit hole yesterday following Google links reading about muay thai betting and one of the blog articles had a photo of a Thai guy wearing a vest with a bunch of cell phones attached to it, lol. That is at events that take place out of the main stadiums that your camp usually must put up a side bet so the fight is viewed as legitimate with both fighters trying to attract gamblers to pay the entry fee. Gambling is illegal in thailand except when they can get a permit from the government like the major stadiums. Online gambling is highly illegal in the country and that is why you do not see sites taking bets otherwise they would probably be huge.I went down a deep rabbit hole yesterday following Google links reading about muay thai betting and one of the blog articles had a photo of a Thai guy wearing a vest with a bunch of cell phones attached to it, lol. Alot of western fans don't understand the scoring and think the one being aggressive in the 5th round is dominating, when alot of times he is actually losing. Many thais go backward in the 5th round and will gladly throw strikes that don't score much, but show dominance (alot of jabs, teeps, circling, ocasinally spinning elbows etc). Aggressive guy is chasing to get a KO.
Actually i would say the big promotions in thailand have less robberies than any promotion in Europe. I've heard about fighters throwing fights, but i don't know enough about it to make any conspiracy theories. I think it's illegal doing so, i remember one guy being escorted out by police after throwing a fight.
Hi CK. I'm sure there are other people here who know more than me about that subject and can give you a better answer than me. If i recall right, they already have.wha about fighters, even kids, getting spiked with drugs and other sedative fluids? some will never become public because the amount that's used is just enough, but the ones that go to a hospital?
