The m14 was a mistake that the US insisted due to huge stocks of the gun. No other country showed much interest in it even with US backing it up. The Ar-10,18 and 15 were all more much successful in the international market.
Because they had thousands of rifles laying around. Doesn't change the fact that it an outdated rifle that has to be made much heavier to become accurate.
The Fal and G3 were much more successful and you know that.
Now compared to an Ar-10 or Scar-H, the M14 really shows its age.
