My girlfriend is traditionally feminine. She can neither rack the slide on a glock, nor pull the trigger on my Taurus 856.
What should she try shooting?
For SD in europe for close range is advised as bare minimum 9*17 mm ACP type stuff or 9*19 MAC ( PM)...
Also 38 Sp for revolvers and ....sutff more effective than these.
Some nuance : stoppage power matters a lot, also in SD cases for court person who had killed assiliant with 1 or 2 shots will look lesser dangerous for society than someone who landed 3-5 bullets in attacker....
Definitely I don't advise to use for example 25 ACP .....
It might be even used by killers but....in SD situations happened that an aggeessor after getting bullet from this in forehead had beated out all shit from person....
While this bullet might kill anyone instantly if will hurt important areas in neck etc and by law still is rifled barrel pisols combat cartridge....
If recoil is so big problem to train, in extreme cases 32 ACP is bare minimum.
And in real SD timefrime until you will be able to use weapon and balls will matter more than recoil.
To land first shot recoil anyway will not matter....
