Someone has vandalized the Lincoln Memorial, the National Park Service says.

The words "F--- law" were found written in red spray paint early Tuesday on a pillar at the monument that overlooks the Capitol building and National Mall, NPS said Tuesday afternoon. The graffiti was found about 4:30 a.m.

"It's frustrating, not only for the Park Service but certainly for the visitors that come here, that anyone would vandalize any of our iconic memorials. Especially the Lincoln Memorial. Especially with everything that's going on now -- the calls for unity and people to come together," NPS spokesman Mike Litterst said.

Vandalizing monuments is so petty.

Even when it comes to the intentionally vulgar/trollish installation of statues of Lenin etc in liberal towns. I would like to travel time and put a bullet in the guy's head but I'm not going to vandalize an ornate statue depicting a historical event.

It accomplishes absolutely nothing other than making you feel like a baby who needs a diaper change.

The whole thing is ridiculous. Why is there a need to whitewash the history of Americas south? Humans have been fucking terrible to eachother throughout history, we are just lucky to live in the small sliver of time where we actually value human life.

The whole world is appalled at ISIS bulldozing ancient Babylonian ruins and monuments. But those guys used to pick out the eyes of prisoners with sharp rods and were all around brutal slavers.
