Less than 4 months after giving him a landslide win, the French are turning against Macron

I didn't really follow the French election and just assumed he was more socialist than he is.

If he's tackling debt, cutting bloated civil service departments and trying to expand free market principles I thought the Right in America would love this guy.

From what I understand about that election (which isn't much, tbh). Most people were just holding their nose and voting Macron to keep le pen out. He was never some massively popular candidate, just the more sensible option.

The other realistic option this year was Schulz, who was a worse candidate than Hillary.

CDU/CSU lost a bunch of voters and will have to look for a weird ass coalition, but overall the people chose the lesser evil in Merkel. Except for the refugee stuff, Germany is doing very well also.

Don't come in here with your actual experience of living in Germany and tell people that it's doing well, bro.

How is he a can? I’m not French and don’t follow French politics but economically he’s what France needs and he does not seem like a fan of mass migration

Even the most left leaning person would have to admit that France needs some restructuring, they have had chronically high unemployment for a long time. They have been hovering near 10% for as long as I can remember all while having some of the highest taxes in Europe.

So he's basically the white, French version of Obama.... My condolences to those citizens who supported him under false pretenses.
